The Unlit Leader

Brian D. Matthews

I’m Brian, also known as The Unlit Leader. For over 26 years, I've been a military warrant officer, navigating high-stakes environments where influence often mattered more than titles. As a cultural minority leader, I faced the unique challenge of balancing authenticity with professional expectations while grappling with imposter syndrome.

These experiences shaped my passion for helping other leaders who feel stuck in roles without formal authority. Through the LIGHT Leadership Coaching Program and my book, Mastering the Inner Game, I provide practical tools and personalized coaching to help you overcome self-doubt, align your values with success, and thrive as a leader.

At Unlit Leadership, my mission is to help you unlock your authentic leadership potential. Together, we’ll cultivate authenticity, sharpen emotional intelligence, master effective communication, and align your personal values with actionable, achievable goals—empowering you to lead with confidence and purpose.
